Traffic Challans Eligible for Waiver or Reduction

Challans related to minor traffic violations can be waived or reduced during the Lok Adalat. These include:

  • Riding without helmet
  • Jumping red light
  • Wrongly issued challan
  • Over-speeding
  • Not having a valid PUC certificate
  • Wrong parking
  • Driving without licence
  • No vehicle fitness certificate
  • Driving in the wrong lane
  • Ignoring traffic signs
  • Driving without number plate

Challans Not Eligible for Waiver

The Lok Adalat will not settle cases involving serious traffic offences, such as:

  • Drunk driving
  • Hit-and-run cases
  • Death caused by negligent driving
  • Driving by minors
  • Unauthorized racing or speed trials
  • Vehicles used in criminal activities
  • Challans pending in court cases
  • Challans issued in other states

Lok Adalat 2025: Mandatory Token Registration

To participate in the National Lok Adalat, you must register online:

  1. Visit the official website of NALSA (National Legal Services Authority).
  2. Select the option for Lok Adalat Online Application.
  3. Fill out the form and upload required documents.
  4. Submit to receive a token number and appointment letter via email/phone.

⚠️ On the day of the hearing, carry:

  • Vehicle documents & challan details
  • Arrive at least 1 hour before the allotted time
